A Texas man didn’t waste any time getting back into trouble after walking out of jail. Police say he stole a car less than a mile from the facility, and it took less than two hours for him to end up right back where he started.
According to the Pearland Police Department, officers responded to a vehicle theft in progress at a Chevron on Broadway Street around 10:17 a.m. on August 25. The victim told police his car was stolen from the parking lot while he was airing up his tires. Security footage from the gas station showed a man in red shorts and a gray Jordan T-shirt driving off in the vehicle.
