A large structure fire, and the smoke plume caused by it, are leading to concerns in West Shreveport this morning. Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reese tells us that the fire is a “cooling unit” and is actually in Greenwood. According to Caddo 911 records, the address listed for the call is Antonie Blvd at West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and John Petterway Jr Blvd. That address being listed sparked concerns that the fire could be located at the old GM plant in Shreveport, but the Shreveport Fire Department tells us this is not the large structure at the old GM building, but rather an adjacent cooling unit structure.
