6-Year-Old Missing From Ohio Recovered in Houston After Family Pickup Turns Into Multi-State Search, Officials Say

A mother’s plan to pick up her young son after a weekend with family turned into a frightening search that stretched from Ohio to Texas, according to federal authorities.

A 6-year-old boy from Maple Heights, Ohio, was safely recovered in Houston on the morning of June 18, 2026, after investigators say he was taken without permission and brought to the Texas area. The U.S. Marshals Service said D’Juan Younger, 37, was arrested in connection with the case.

According to officials, the child’s mother contacted the Maple Heights Police Department on June 15 after she arrived to pick up her son and found that he was missing. The boy had reportedly been left with family members over the weekend, but authorities say the situation changed when Younger allegedly took the child from a family member’s residence without permission.

Police said Younger then traveled to the Houston area with the boy. The case quickly moved beyond a local missing child report and became a coordinated search involving police in Ohio and federal investigators in Texas…
