Portage County commissioners awarded a nearly $1.18 million contract to replace the bridge structure on Newton Falls Road in Paris Township.
Most of the cost will be federal funding, the Portage County Engineer’s Office announced in a June 17 news release.
The bridge is just east of the intersection of Holcomb and Newton Falls roads, over the West Branch of the Mahoning River. The eastbound detour will be Paris-Windham Road, west of the bridge, south to Cable Line Road, east to McClintocksburg Road and north to Newton Falls Road just west of the bridge and vice versa for westbound motorists…
