AKRON, Ohio – Strongsville native Jake Scott shot a tournament-record 10-under 60 on Monday to seize a 2-shot lead after the first round of the 105th Ohio Open Championship at Firestone Country Club.
The 38-year-old professional birdied four of his first five holes and carded a 30-30-60 on the Fazio Course to break the previous low round of 61. That mark was set by amateur Ryan Gutowski at Westfield Country Club in 2016 and matched by Alex Weiss in 2019.
