CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Friends and family gathered at Rittman United Methodist Church Saturday for a celebration of life honoring Christie McWilliams, 44, and her 13-year-old daughter McKinley McWilliams.
The two died July 5 when police say Christie’s ex-boyfriend shot them in their home. The mass shooting also killed one Rittman Police Officer and wounded four other members of law enforcement and a police K9.
A life built around family
Christie worked in medical credentialing and real estate, but friends say her favorite role was being a mother, cheering McKinley on from the stands at volleyball matches and softball games. The two shared a love of country music.
Christie is survived by one son.
