The Hartville News first reported on Hartville’s new Strategic Plan in May 2025. Hartville Councilman Tim Hayden rolled out an overview of the plan at Village Hall on May 7, 2025, to the Lake Township Chamber of Commerce at a MorningCONNECTIONS event. Recently, a year later and with substantial changes, Hartville Council approved the plan on May 11, 2026.
Hayden stated, “It is important that the Hartville village develop a strategy that incorporates itself into other organizations such as the Lake Township Trustees, the Lake Township Chamber of Commerce and its businesses, Lake Schools, and large nonprofits. We cannot move forward by insulating ourselves.”
The mission statement reads as follows: “To preserve Hartville’s small-town charm while fostering a safe, inclusive and vibrant community through thoughtful governance, sustainable development, and active civic engagement.”…
