NEW FRANKLIN — This August, the Dragon Dream Team, a competitive breast cancer survivor dragon boat team, will represent Akron at the 2026 International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission (IBCPC) Participatory Festival in Aix-les-Bains, France.
The IBCPC Participatory Festival brings together thousands of breast cancer survivors from around the world in a celebration of life, resilience and the healing power of sport. More than a competition, the festival demonstrates that life after breast cancer can be filled with strength, purpose and adventure.
According to Dragon Dream Team officials, research has shown that dragon boating can improve the physical and emotional well-being of breast cancer survivors.
