Suspect charged after series of business break-ins across Stark County

Investigators have charged a suspect after a string of thefts and business break-ins across Stark County.

The 49-year-old man was arrested on July 14. He is accused of a series of crimes between mid-June and early July. Court records list different addresses for him in Strasburg and Sugar Creek Township.

Court records filed in Massillon and Canton municipal courts allege he is tied to five theft incidents involving thousands of dollars:

  • On June 18, the man is accused of breaking into The New Deal Club on Sinclair Street SW in Tuscarawas Township and stealing money.
  • On June 23, he is accused of breaking into Rae’s Diner at Nassau Street W in East Canton and stealing from cash drawers and a safety deposit box.
  • On June 26, he is accused of unsuccessfully trying to break into the Amvets Post 124 on Sherrick Road SE in Canton Township.
  • On June 26, he is also accused of breaking into the Red Dog Saloon at Sherman Church Avenue SW in Bethlehem Township with a crowbar and taking a safe.
  • On July 1, he is accused of breaking into a laundromat on 10th Street NW in Canton and removing the coin machine with a crowbar.
