Peggy is also the longtime Queen Bee (president) of the Medina County Beekeepers Association, which boasts 200 busy members. The reason for our chat is because the MCBA donated more than $7,000 for the newest Main Street Medina gem, Medina Bee Park, 380 S. Broadway. Beekeepers realized donors were desperately needed and generously responded by purchasing three sets of sturdy composite picnic benches and four Adirondack chairs for the convenience of park visitors.
According to Peggy, this benevolent gesture is intended to promote beekeeping countywide. Another important beekeeper promotion is the Medina County District Library’s Bee Festival on Saturday, July 18. The beekeepers also meet at the Medina Library on the third Monday of each month.
