Ohio firefighter killed by alleged drunk driver while helping disabled driver

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio (WJW) – A local firefighter died and a woman was hospitalized after they were hit by an alleged drunk driver while assisting the driver of a disabled vehicle in Pepper Pike.

First responders were called to Fairmount Boulevard near Brainard Road at about 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, according to a news release from the Pepper Pike Police Department.

At the scene, police saw three vehicles involved in a crash. A woman and man were found “between two of the vehicles,” police said. They were suffering from serious injuries…
