GREEN, Ohio (WJW) — The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who fled from authorities on Wednesday, Sept. 2, leading to a manhunt and local schools to be temporarily placed on lockdown.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the area of Pearwood Way in the city of Green for a reported stolen vehicle and a suspect who ran from the scene on foot.

Deputies, using a drone and K-9 units, began an extensive search of the wooded area for the suspect.
During the search, Green High School and Green Middle School were placed on lockdown out of precaution Wednesday afternoon, the district told FOX 8 News in a statement. According to the sheriff’s office, the lockdown was lifted at about 2:30 p.m. and the students were released from school after the area was safely cleared.
