Board also moves to terminate three employees over separate incidents
AKRON — With an annual budget well over half a billion taxpayer dollars, it stands to reason $13,000 would amount to pocket change for Akron Public Schools (APS).
But the APS Board of Education spent about 30 minutes during its regular meeting Sept. 14 debating a proposed $13,000 contract with Shared Services Alliance that would “provide an enrollment and staffing analysis” to the district.
While Summer Hall moved to approve the contract, and the Rev. Gregory Harrison seconded, both made it clear that they made the motions only to bring the matter to the floor for discussion. Both eventually voted against the contract, along with members Nathan Jarosz and Rene Molenaur, who, voting last, cast the deciding vote. The motion failed…
