AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Union members representing Akron METRO workers have agreed to a new six-year contract with the bus system, officials confirmed Friday evening.
According to Transport Workers Union Local 1 leaders, the new contract, which runs retroactively from June 2024 through May 2030, includes the following:
- $8,300 in retroactive pay per member, on average, not including overtime.
- A $2,000 signing bonus
- A $2,000 annual attendance bonus, up from $1,000
- Annual raises of 3%, 3%, 3.5%, 3.5%, 3%, and 3%
