Tallmadge City Schools places 1% earned income tax on November ballot amid financial crisis and state funding cuts

TALLMADGE, Ohio — Tallmadge City Schools is asking voters for additional funding for the third time in a year, but after voters rejected two property tax levies, district leaders are taking a different approach.

A 1% earned income tax will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot. The district estimates the tax would eventually generate approximately $5 million annually for current operating expenses.
