Three companies secured Defense Logistics Agency contracts to supply steel and other metals.
The largest share goes to Metallus Inc., which is based in Canton, Ohio. Its $995 million contract is for High Fragmentation 1 Steel, a specially formulated steel alloy that is used as a component of large-caliber artillery and mortar projectiles.
The five-year contract covers the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Space Force and runs through Sept. 24, 2031…
