Man convicted in Macedonia bridge bomb plot now indicted for possessing deadly toxin

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Northeast Ohio man, previously convicted for being part of a terrorist collective that planned to blow up a bridge, has now been indicted for having a “deadly biological agent.”

A federal grand jury indicted 34-year-old Brandon Baxter, of East Cleveland, for possessing the deadly toxin ricin, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio announced on Friday.

Baxter was charged with prohibitions with respect to biological weapons and possession of a biological toxin by a restricted person, the attorney’s office said.

Back in 2012, Baxter was sentenced to just under 10 years in prison for his role in an attempt to detonate explosives at the base of a bridge on Route 82 in Macedonia.

“I plan on using my time in incarceration to better myself,” he said of his punishment at the time, as FOX 8 News reported…
