AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – An Akron woman convicted in connection with a January 2023 crash on I-480 that killed a 30-year-old man, will be sentenced Friday in Summit County Court of Common Pleas.
In September, a jury found Africa Watson, 28, guilty of the following charges:
- One count of aggravated vehicular homicide
- One count of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them
Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said Macedonia police responded to a call about a body found in the roadway of I-480 east in January 2023.
