Drug trafficking operation conducted in Summit County

AKRON , Ohio (WJW) – Two people were arrested and 21 traffic stops were made during a drug trafficking operation on Tuesday.

Authorities made 21 traffic stops and three arrests, including one warrant arrest, during drug interdiction work in a high-traffic area of Coventry Township.

The Summit County Drug Unit, Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol worked together on the operation, according to the release.

According to the release, one illegal handgun, fentanyl and suspected opioid pills were seized and taken into evidence.

Additional charges are pending in relation to the operation, according to the release.
