The Garfield CLC Army JROTC has been awarded the highest unit designation, Honor Unit with Distinction, during the US Army Cadet Command formal inspection. Garfield was evaluated for precision drill, color guard, service learning, continuous improvement and individual inspection. The HUD designation is only awarded to the top 5% of Army JROTC units in the nation.
