WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Trumbull County judge said jail time could not be avoided for a man who has six prior felonies.
Jaquan Isom, 33, of Akron, was sentenced Tuesday before Judge Andrew Logan in Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas. He was answering to a weapons charge from an April 2022 traffic stop in Brookfield when Isom was found to have a gun in his car, according to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office.
Isom was charged with having weapons while under disability due to his past convictions, which made it illegal for him to have a firearm.
Isom was sentenced to 18 months in prison instead of probation because Judge Logan said that he was not eligible for probation because of his six prior felonies.
