SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – A Rittman woman was sentenced to prison for the murder of a pizza delivery driver in Summit County more than a decade ago.

On Thursday, Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Jennifer Towell sentenced 41-year-old Erica Stefanko to life in prison for the 2012 murder of 25-year-old Ashley Biggs.

Prosecutors say Stefanko lured Biggs to a closed down business in New Franklin by ordering a pizza there. Stefanko’s husband, Chad Cobb, then beat and strangled her to death, prosecutors say.

Stefanko then followed Cobb as he drove her body to an empty field in Chippewa Township of Wayne County, according to prosecutors.

Stefanko’s previous conviction in the case was overturned because of Cobb’s remote testimony in 2020. He’s currently serving a life sentence without parole.

She was once again found guilty on Wednesday , after a second trial with a new panel of jurors.
