Mayor Blackwell Allegedly Threatened by Councilwoman: Legislation Controversy

Maple Heights, OH. – The City of Maple Heights, OH, had its regularly scheduled council meeting on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. All the council members were in attendance, including Mayor Annette M. Blackwell, city administrators, and public members.

As with any other city, the council meeting entailed public comments and reports from directors, the Mayor, and the council. There was nothing unusual about this evening. Brown on Cleveland was present to observe the meeting. Mostly, it was respectful, even from the one resident who addressed the council. “Last time I was here, (I heard) councilwoman Tangelynn Madden stated that she would not bow down to anyone. I need to get clarification and an understanding of what was said. The last meeting I left, this time, I will stay for the entire meeting if someone wants to address my concerns. I want this council to work together just as the Cavs to get things done,” stated Larry Means. Mr. Means appears to have been expressing his discontent with the behavior of Councilperson Madden and Edwina Agee of the District Seven community. After Mr. Means questioned the ladies by asking, “Do you all have something to say?” No one responded to him. Moments later, Councilwoman Madden denied the gossip.
