A new restaurant has opened in Akron, Ohio

A new restaurant has opened for business in Akron.

Are you craving some soul food? If the answer is yes, you might want to check out the new restaurant The Plannerz Place Eatery, which opened its doors at the beginning of the month, according to the restaurant’s social media account. You can find the restaurant in Akron’s Northside Marketplace at 21 Furnace St.

Per the restaurant’s website, the Plannerz Place is a concept from directing manager/co-owner Tonya Essick, who’s been cooking since childhood. The new restaurant offers a rotating menu. During its first week of operation, the restaurant served up whole chicken wings, pulled pork, fried salmon strips, mac & cheese, corn souffle, green beans, and soul rolls.

Right now, the Plannerz Place is in its second week and offering whole chicken wings, pork chops, roast beef, mac & cheese, candied yams, collard greens, and soul rolls.

Next week, the menu will include whole chicken wings, pig’s trotters (aka pig’s feet), salmon croquettes, mac & cheese, cabbage, hopping Johns (which is a peas and rice dish), and soul rolls.
