Canton woman pleads guilty to tax charges tied to illegal gambling business

CANTON, Ohio (WJW) – A Canton woman accused of operating an illegal gambling business pleaded guilty to defrauding the Internal Revenue Service on Wednesday.

According to court records, Stephanie Condric managed and later co-owned an illegal gambling business, Gametastic, in Canton between 2014 and 2018.

Prosecutors say the business underpaid taxes by failing to report employees’ cash wages to the IRS.

Court records say Condric also filed false tax returns, hiding some of the personal income she made from the business.

She will be sentenced at a later date. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Condric faces up to five years in prison, as well as restitution and monetary penalties.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
