Man leaves date and her car on railroad tracks: Olmsted Falls Police Blotter

Police went to the Norfolk Southern Railway tracks where a train hit a car at 9:20 p.m. April 13. A man drove a car onto the tracks. He then ran away from it leaving his date – and the car – behind. The woman ran out of the car before a train hit it. She was the car’s owner. The car was now just west of the Brookside Drive crossing. Police were with the train conductor and the car. The woman gave a description of the man and his name to police. All railroad traffic was stopped. The railway’s police were contacted. A second tow truck was called, which had specialized equipment to handle the car that was on the tracks. The car was removed, and the train continued on its way.
