Northeast Ohio Olympic gold medalist secures chance to defend title in Paris

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Katie Moon will officially be in Paris to defend her Olympic gold medal in the pole vault. The Northeast Ohio native and Olmsted Falls High School alumna Sunday was one of three United States pole vaulters to clinch a spot in the team to advance to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Moon along with Bridget Williams and Brynn King all advanced after clearing the Olympic standard of 4.73 meters (about 15 feet, 6 1/4 inches) at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
