CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – Big-tent arena concerts have become audio and visual feasts and often aim to place concertgoers in front of what amounts to live-action videos with lasers, plumes of pyro and clouds of dry ice, mini-films, costume changes, cadres of dancers writhing and undulating, acrobatics and rampant lip-syncing — all designed to keep the audiences eyes and ears overstuffed. So when a trio of aged music icons simply walk out on stage and play some of the songs that have embedded themselves into the hearts, minds and memories of fans and influenced countless fellow musicians, it almost feels subversive.
