Local sheriff’s deputy involved in crash

CANTON , Ohio (WJW) — The state patrol is investigating a Tuesday afternoon crash involving a Stark County sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle.

The sheriff’s office contacted Canton patrol dispatchers just before 5 p.m. to report a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Market Avenue North and 44th Street Northeast in Canton, according to a patrol spokesperson.

The cars involved included the sheriff’s office’s Ford Explorer cruiser, a Jeep Compass and another passenger vehicle, according to the spokesperson.

The driver of the Jeep, a 44-year-old Canton resident, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The deputy and the third driver were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
