Local mayor faces judge in criminal case

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Warrensville Heights Mayor Brad Sellers is due in court Wednesday.

Mayor Sellers was arraigned on charges including tampering with records and petty theft.

I-Team: Another dirt bike takeover; why didn’t anyone call police?

According to court records, Sellers pleaded not guilty.

He posted a personal bond of $1,500.

The FOX 8 I-Team began investigating Sellers’ tax issues in 2018.

According to the I-Team , the charges related to a city document that gave himself a tax abatement, which is a tax break on his property in the city he governs.

The I-Team learned in 2018 that Sellers had fallen behind on paying his taxes.

Sellers is cooperating with investigators, according to court documents.

Sellers has not responded to FOX 8’s requests for comment.

He’s scheduled for a pretrial hearing on October 2.
