Unfortunate! Young Woman Admits Murdering Cleveland State Professor

Terreionna Paschal, a 32-year-old Black woman, was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for the tragic death of Cleveland State University professor Todd Morgan.

Paschal pleaded guilty to the charges, and on September 19, 2024, an Akron, Ohio, judge delivered the sentence, marking the end of a deeply emotional case.

The heartbreaking incident unfolded in April 2023 when authorities found Morgan’s body in his Hudson home following a welfare check.

He had been fatally shot multiple times in the head and torso. Paschal and Morgan had connected through dating apps, and on April 18, 2023, the day before the murder, Paschal searched online for Morgan’s profile and details about his home. This led to their ill-fated meeting the next day.

During the sentencing, the judge acknowledged the profound pain experienced by Morgan’s family, noting that no court decision could “make this better” for them. However, the judge commended Paschal for taking responsibility for her actions and sparing the family from the additional trauma of a trial.
