INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — His name was Bruce. He was a 12-year-old special needs Siberian husky. I lost him on Saturday Aug. 31. I’m devastated and heartbroken. Bruce was born on Leap Day 2012 with a potentially life-threatening congenital defect called laryngeal paralysis, which eventually would have caused him to suffocate if he got too excited or drank water.
