The cold is here: Graupel spotted in NE Ohio

CLEVELAND (WJW) – This chilly stretch of fall weather led to graupel falling in Northeast Ohio Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service , graupel is a type of frozen precipitation that is also known as snow pellets or soft hail.
