Alliance Veterans Council will honor American service veterans at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 on Freedom Square in downtown Alliance during a Veterans Day program.
All veterans are invited to attend the public ceremony.
Keynote speaker for the event will be Joshua Cioci, an Alliance native who is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army. He served nine years as an Apache helicopter pilot with deployments fo Afghanistan, Kosovo and Iraq.
Cioci is a graduate of Alliance High School, Bowling Green State University and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He is the managing funeral director at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance. He lives with his wife, Sarah, and his stepchildren Millie and Cameron.
The Veterans Day ceremony will begin with the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance led by the event’s master of ceremonies Frank Barnes, who is chaplain of American Legion 10 th District.
Alliance High School Aviators Marching Band will play the national anthem.
Alliance Mayor Andy Grove will read a proclamation. Cioci will place a wreath, and American Legion Post 166 Honor Guard will perform a rifle volley, Taps and Echo.
