JACKSON , Ohio (WJW) — Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested an Akron man and seized more than $20,000 worth of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Scioto County on Sunday, Nov. 10.
A trooper stopped an SUV with a Kentucky registration on state Route 823 just after noon that day, according to a news release.

The trooper, as heard in body-worn camera footage released by the patrol, said the vehicle had made an unusual lane change then stayed in the passing lane.
After finding cocaine residue on the passenger seat of the SUV, the trooper patted down the driver, Antoine Phelps, 33, of Akron, finding about 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine, worth about $20,000, according to the release.

Phelps was transported to the Scioto County jail on first-degree felony counts of methamphetamine possession and trafficking in drugs.
If convicted, he could face up to 22 years in prison and a $40,000 fine, according to the release.
