Rep Forhan Sues Cuyahoga County Democratic Party, Alleging Hit Job

Ohio. State Representative Elliot Forhan is suing several members of the Democratic and Republican Parties. Forhan claims that party members put a “political hit job” on him, causing him to lose his re-election bid, contract as an adjunct professor, and well-paying client at his law firm.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Forhan filed a 110-page legal complaint with the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

The complaint alleges that certain members of the Democratic and Republican Party tarnished his reputation, committed perjury, and made allegations of claims that he is mentally unstable and angry towards others. Forhan alleges that these are baseless and inaccurate claims against him that ruined his reputation and caused him to suffer financially.

In May 2023, Forhan was accused of being verbally aggressive and disrespectful toward a constituent regarding a cosmetology bill that he supported and the constituent opposed. According to Forhan, the accusation is not truthful. Forhan says he is a passionate speaker. It is reported that Forhan later apologized. Cleveland.com reported that Forhan was reprimanded after allegations of an ‘aggressive’ Statehouse interaction with constituent Ladosha Wright; the Democratic Party stripped Forhan of all his rights and privileges. As a result, Forhan says he was not allowed to do the job for which he was elected.
