Christmas comes early for Alliance family

Another Alliance family is celebrating after receiving a new vehicle for Christmas from Sally & Assoc. Auto Sales.

The Sherens received a Toyota Sienna minivan on Sunday when the dealership’s owners, and their friends and family, drove up to the family’s home on South Linden Avenue and handed Thomas and Amy Sheren the keys to the vehicle.

Led by owners Jake Sponseller, Andrea Sponseller, Ryan Wittensoldner and Kelly Wittensoldner, the group then proceeded to form a chain to bring a vanload of Christmas gifts up the front steps, onto the porch and into the house.

The family was nominated for the special gift by staff at Alliance City School District. The Sherens’ younger daughter, Savannah, is a 16-year-old sophomore at Alliance High. They also have another daughter, 18-year-old Kloe.

Gifts for the family included such things as crafts, blankets, household items, gift cards, personal items and clothing.

Carnation City-area businesses that donated to the effort included Texas Roadhouse, Grinders Above & Beyond, Raising Cane’s, College Inn, Gionino’s, Victorio’s Pizza, MAD Hair Studio, Wittensoldner Reality, Givens-Grove Insurance, Heritage Union Title, Shine Now Auto Detailing and Fresh Mark. Community members and the owners’ family members and friends also contributed to the effort, which also raised about $1,000 in cash donations.
