Akron schools superintendent accused of calling 2 female reporters ‘hos’

Akron Public Schools Superintendent Michael Robinson is being accused of twice calling two female reporters — including an Akron Beacon Journal reporter — “hos” during a closed-door meeting with administrators.

In a letter to the Akron Public Schools’ legal counsel, retired APS Communications Director Mark Williamson also outlined a pattern of behavior by the top district leader that he said amounted to “inordinate hostility” toward staff.

Williamson wrote to district counsel Diana Feitl on Dec. 5, about five weeks after he retired from APS.

“I wanted to get this to you as soon as possible in case anything arises in the future where this could be useful,” he wrote.

Robinson and other administrators are currently under investigation by an outside firm for undisclosed allegations. Board President Diana Autry declined to comment on whether the school board received Williamson’s letter and whether the letter is being used in the investigation.
