Man arrested, charged with arson, accused of torching pickup with Molotov cocktail

CANAL FULTON , Ohio (WJW) — Dramatic video released by the Lawrence Township Police Department shows intense flames burning through the cabin of a pickup truck after a suspect allegedly set fire to the vehicle using a Molotov cocktail.

The incident occurred on Dec. 20 on the 6200 block of Erie Avenue.

“When I arrived on scene there was a Ford F-150 pickup, black smoke and flames in the cabin area,” Lawrence Township police officer Scott Jones said.

Jones, among the first on the scene, began questioning residents and neighbors to find out what happened.

“Do you know of anyone who would do something like that? You’re not feuding with somebody?” he asked on the body camera footage.

The victims told police they have no idea why this would happen. Witnesses recalled seeing a black truck at the scene.

“The only person we know with a black truck is Bradley Stutzman,” one of the victims said on body camera.

Police moved quickly to apprehend the suspect.
