AKRON, Ohio WJW) — The president of the Akron Police Union is furious over recent comments from a councilman saying the city lawmaker called an officer involved in a police shooting a “domestic enemy.”
“For a council member to turn around and call an Akron police officer a domestic enemy and also accuse him of his actions being a domestic terrorist, it’s very inappropriate,” said Brian Lucey, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Akron Lodge 7. “The entire press release is filled with inaccuracies.”

The shooting happened on November 28, a short time after officers were investigating the sound of gunfire on East Avenue. Police located Jazmir Tucker in front of the Miller South School.
The teen was found with a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine. The gun was found inside the teen’s jacket pocket that was zipped up.
The body camera video does not show what led up to the shooting. Officials said officers did not activate the cameras when they exited the vehicle.
