Cuyahoga County Public Library CEO announces retirement

PARMA, Ohio – After nearly 30 years dedicated to Ohio’s public libraries, Cuyahoga County Public Library’s CEO Tracy Strobel has announced she will step down from her role on June 1.

Strobel’s tenure at Cuyahoga County Public Library spans two decades, including serving as CEO since 2019 and previously as deputy director for 14 years. Her leadership ushered the library system through large-scale improvement projects, including the replacement of a dozen library branches and planning for two new branches set to open in Parma Heights and Beachwood over the next two years, according to a news release.

Her prioritization of community partnerships resulted in additional expansion for CCPL’s library services. Strobel led the merger of two nonprofit organizations to create Aspire Greater Cleveland, which provides free adult education services throughout Cuyahoga County.
