AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – A family was displaced from their home after a fire in Akron on Tuesday evening.
According to a press release from the Akron Fire Department , crews responded to a report of a house fire around 6:20 p.m. in the 400 block of East Park Boulevard in Goodyear Heights.

At the scene, crews arrived to heavy smoke and fire at the back of the home, which extended to the roof and attic.
While no one was home during the fire, two adults, a 10-month-old child and two dogs were displaced. The Red Cross was called to assist, according to the release.
