AKRON , Ohio (WJW) – Local dispatchers recently fielded several calls about a goat running loose on a busy, dark highway.
The responding officers’ body cameras captured the unusual, but dangerous scene.
According to the Akron Police Department, the situation unfolded Friday, March 14 around 9 p.m. The goat was spotted on State Route 8 near Tallmadge Avenue.

Body-camera video posted to the police department’s Facebook page shows the goat running in the northbound lanes, but leading police in a wrong-way foot pursuit along the side of the highway. At times, the goat is seen running into oncoming traffic, yet is miraculously not hit.
Eventually, officers were able to wrangle the animal into their cruiser. According to the department’s Facebook post, the goat did not have tags, chips, or markings to indicate where it belonged — or where it came from.

The Facebook post quickly received hundreds of comments from viewers. One post said, ‘I held my breath the whole time!!!’ Another joked, ‘You know the goat was probably thinking…“Baaaad boys Baaaaad boys” ‘
According to APD, a local rescue group was called to pick up the goat, which police said has now been knick-named ‘Fugitive.’…
