Summit County receives state grant to offer inmates addiction treatment

AKRON, Ohio – Summit County is one of eight Ohio counties to receive a grant to help sheriffs prioritize addiction treatment for jail inmates.

The grants total $1.2 million and are the first round of $60 million in grants earmarked for addiction treatment in jails. The grants are funded by opioid settlement lawsuits, according to a news release from Attorney General Dave Yost’s office.
