NE Ohio police officer shoots suspect during car chase

WOOSTER, Ohio — Police trying to stop a vehicle with a stolen license plate ended up shooting and wounding the driver after he reported opened fire on officers during a chase.

The suspect, whose identity was not released, was flown by helicopter to Akron General Hospital with life-threatening wounds after the chase ended in Wooster, police say. No officers were injured.
