COLUMBUS, OH – Easter Sunday is supposed to be about love, family, and faith. But in 2010, one Columbus family witnessed everything sacred torn apart in a matter of seconds. That day, blood turned on blood, and a celebration turned into a tragedy.
According to the Columbus Police Department, on April 4, 2010, 42-year-old Evelyn Burgess was hosting a family gathering at her home on Manchester Avenue on the city’s north side. Her husband, Kevin Burgess, was there, along with relatives, including her 19-year-old cousin, Danielle Pickens.
