TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County Sheriff’s deputy is suspended for neglect of duty after he was caught spending hours of his workday at his home in Wood County and lying about it on activity logs.
According to his Internal Affairs file obtained by 11 Investigates after a public records request, Deputy John McCallum spent “excessive periods of time ranging from two hours to over five hours” at his home on Eckel Junction Road in Perrysburg when he should have been serving paperwork in Lucas County in his role as a process server.
The investigative report states that the investigation started on Jan. 28 when Internal Affairs received a complaint about a police vehicle being parked in a Perrysburg driveway for hours at a time during the day.
