New York to Ohio Severe Weather Alert: Millions Face Large Hail, Damaging Gusts Through Tuesday Night

Buffalo, N.Y. – Severe thunderstorms are expected to sweep across the Lower Great Lakes from Ohio to New York on Tuesday, putting more than 30 million people at risk for dangerous weather, including large hail and damaging wind gusts.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, the greatest threat will develop Tuesday afternoon and evening, with cities such as Cleveland, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Erie, and Syracuse facing the potential for hail up to two inches in diameter. Damaging winds may down trees and power lines, leading to possible outages and travel disruptions along major interstates including I-90 and I-79.
