KENT, Ohio (WOIO) – The Kent State University community will gather Sunday afternoon for the annual commemoration of the May 4, 1970 shootings.
May 4, 2024 marks 55 years since the Ohio National Guard opened fire on university students during an anti-war protest.
The shooting, which killed – Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Schroeder – and those wounded – Alan Canfora, John Cleary, Thomas Grace, Dean Kahler, Joseph Lewis, Donald Mackenzie, James Russell, Robert Stamps and Douglas Wrentmore, sparked a turning point in the nation’s history…
