CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cuyahoga County judge has denied that she was disrespectful to an attorney before the start of a public corruption trial, though she admitted that she was upset about a late motion filed just hours before the proceeding was to begin.
The trial for suspended East Cleveland Mayor Brandon King remains on hold as the state’s top court considers a response to allegations of misconduct against Common Pleas Judge Hollie Gallagher.
King’s trial on corruption-related charges was set to begin last week but was reset after his attorney, Charles Tyler, asked the high court to intervene and remove Gallagher from the case.
